Worthwhile
is about texture, about color, about light...
about design, about ingenuity,
contrasts, insight...
Its about layering these elements together in unexpected ways to create a style all
its own...all your own... |
Worthwhile opened in December, 1993 in
Charleston, SC, bringing a bit of the unknown to what was then a fairly conservative
shopping environment. The mix of merchandise found
in a department store translated to a boutique setting was an idea just catching on
at the time...lifestyle... Worthwhile went one step further to include women's and
children's clothing, creating a truly unique shopping environment. Our vision is to create
a shopping experience that is one of sensory and aesthetic delight..
Our product mix is always varied...a
new material in candle holders, a young clothing designers first season, a book
about the bonds between sisters, loaves of soap sold by the slice, a foldable watering
can, handbags made from seat belts.......were always on the lookout for the new and
unusual, while we sometimes embrace the tried and true; We like translucent layers over
opaque ones, a hard edge next to a soft fabric.
If you enjoy the mix of silk organza
layered over velvet,
If you like to end each day
immersed in a tub of rosemary lavender sea
salts
If the feel of freshly laundered 420 count cotton sheets under a velvet duvet cover surrounded by silk pillows is
your idea of bliss,
If your babies must be swaddled in organic cotton flannel,
If you need a touch of whimsy in the midst of your serious design aesthetic,
If you value laughter and a smile...
Worthwhile is for you...
We had been working on the idea of
working on a catalog for many years, and
this time procrastination may have paid off, as cybershopping came about in
the meantime...were new at this, but excited about bringing our eclectic mix of
products to you via the web. Youll find here the same personalized
service that youll find in our King Street store...so, sit back, relax and enjoy a
truly unique shopping experience...and do let us know what you think...
