Arts & Science Big Collar Short Jacket in Ryukyu Ai Blue. Boxy jacket with a rounded notch collar in a hand-dyed cotton and linen Shimazome. This jacket has a two button front and rounded sleeve cuff slits, with patch pockets. The indigo dye is called Akatsuchi-Ryukyu Ai Blue - a vivid blue dyed with fresh Ryukyu indigo leaves.

This unique fabric, SHIMAZOME, is woven with medium-weight cotton slub 2-ply yarn for the warp and medium-weight linen single-ply yarn for the weft. The warp incorporates bleached yarn, red clay-dyed yarn, and Ryukyu indigo-dyed yarn, all of which evoke the sunlight that falls upon the island and sea. This inspired the name cotton linen sunshine stripe SHIMAZOME. While appearing plain from a distance, the fabric reveals deep and intricate hues from the Amami dyeing process upon closer inspection.
