Founded in 2007 by mother and daughter team Kim and Dechen Yeshi, Norlha is a sustainable luxury brand based on the Tibetan Plateau.
Norlha's atelier is located in Ritoma Village, a nomad settlement on the windswept grasslands of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern China. They work with local artisans to produce handcrafted clothing and homewares using yak khullu – a precious fiber renowned for its durability, softness, and warmth.
Dedicated to empowering their local community through sustainable development, Norlha is a certified Benefit Corporation and has been awarded by the United Nations Development Programme.
Combining traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, Norlha's products reflect the remarkable qualities of khullu, and are made to last a lifetime.
In the Tibetan language, Norlha means ‘wealth of the Gods’ – a phrase used by nomads to refer to the yak. The yak is among the most important resources of the Tibetan Plateau.
