Horisaki
Hidden away in the Swedish forests of Småland lies the workshop and home of Horisaki, a design studio run by husband and wife Makoto & Karin Horisaki. They craft artisanal hats using traditional millinery techniques combined with unique finishing techniques - their leathery textures are created by burning rabbit fur felt and other natural fibers using a blowtorch.
Drawing inspiration from the passage of time, natural elements, and traditional techniques, Horisaki hats embody a sense of history and character.
Through experimental treatments, patination, and carefully selected materials, they create pieces that are both timeless and distinctly personal. The aesthetic is raw and refined, with an emphasis on texture, wear, and the beauty of imperfection.
