An intensely soft 100% yak khullu scarf. The finished fabric is boiled for added density and a fleece-like touch. It features a subtle herringbone pattern. A favorite among Ritoma’s local nomads, who wear these scarves year-round. Khullu is the ultra-fine, downy undercoat that keeps the yak insulated during harsh Tibetan winters. Each summer, the yak naturally shed this down, which is then carefully collected by hand.
Handwoven at the Norlha Atelier in Ritoma Village, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, China. Yak khullu sourced from local nomad cooperatives.
