Norlha Nomad Net Boiled Scarf
Norlha Nomad Net Boiled Scarf in Natural Yak Golden Brown. This intensely soft oversized scarf is woven from 100% yak khullu, with a loose weave developed by Norlha's master weaver using only two of the four pedals on the loom. These Nomad pieces have undergone an additional process of boiling, transforming as their fibres expand and compress, creating a slight density in the weave. Khullu is the ultra-fine, downy undercoat that keeps the yak insulated during harsh Tibetan winters. Each summer, the yak naturally shed this down, which is then carefully collected by hand.
Handwoven at the Norlha Atelier in Ritoma Village, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, China. Yak khullu sourced from local nomad cooperatives.
